The room is now ready for monday morning. All the Les Blogs team has been preparing everything for you, we hope it all runs smoothly...
Wifi
We have more than 6 Mb of download bandwidth and 4 Mb guaranteed upstream spread in the room by about 20 wifi spots managed by a dedicated team at Wavestorm who has been working like crazy to setup everything. Let's cross our fingers and please pay attention to the hotspots plugs when you get in the room, don't unplug their electricity but use free plugs...
Electricity
There should be about 150 plugs for your laptops in the room, I need to buy some more this afternoon, please DON'T unplug the wifi hotspots !
Here are some pictures and a short video (fr/quicktime) of the room. Thanks Rodrigo for giving us a hand and the big surprise you're preparing on Monday !
Just to remind you there is a Les Blogs Wiki that many of you already use to meet-up on Sunday evening (self organized) and share information such as who is staying where, etc ! Anybody can edit it, feel free to use it as you wish, it's yours.
I hear rumors and I receive emails about this so let me just clarify unlike at Les Blogs 1.0 there will not be any official speaker dinner on Sunday this time for the following reasons:
- we felt bad about inviting only speakers and let the participants out (you know the feeling the next day "have you been to the cool dinner yesterday ?" and you missed it because you were not invited and feel bad about it, right ? So none of that this time
- participants are super important to us, you're all speakers ! We hope the backchannel will work fine for that
- we wanted to get either everybody in a party like the one on Monday night or nobody
- the total cost of the conference is above 100K€ for two days including 17K€ for good wifi (I kill somebody if it does not work ;-) so unfortunately we don't have the budget for a sunday night dinner with everybody
- thanks to our sponsors we can make all these things happen during monday, monday night and tuesday, isn't it cool already ?
- there are already tens of side events being organized before, during and after the conference, so there will be opportunities to have fun...
So, no official dinner on Sunday, I am not even sure where I will be myself, probably still preparing things and running around with the Les Blogs team.
Have fun, you can always organize your own geek dinner on Sunday night and use the wiki to gather.
And Marc, stop inventing that rumour of a private private close friends of Loic special dinner on Sunday, this is *not* my style, all Les Blogs 2.0 participants are friends, at least I hope :-P
