I am currently Development Officer for the Modern Languages Virtual Environment. This learning portal will be the model for every subject area in the world's biggest intranet, the Scottish Schools Digital Network - so we'd better get it right! I am an employee of the University of Stirling, at the Scottish Centre for Information on Language Teaching, working extensively with Learning and Teaching Scotland in Glasgow and giving conferences across the UK. I'm still learning to drive :-(
Having gained an Honours degree in Languages and European Union Studies at Edinburgh, my first teaching experience was in the Universities of Rouen and Paris-IX, heading a course in English for economists. After completing training at Jordanhill I came back to the east of Scotland and taught at Musselburgh Grammar School until June 2005. As a teacher I built two award-winning educational websites, including mgsOnline.org.uk, with materials for every sector of education.
My interests are international and cross-curricular cooperation, non-topic-based Intensive French pedagogy, educational weblogging and Podcasting.
I live in Leith and enjoy eating and drinking in its wide range of local eateries and drinkeries.
